The sub-continent has varied wildlife, flora and fauna due to its diverse climate, vegetation and surroundings.

 

India has many Sanctuaries and Wildlife Parks and this program gives us a chance to explore some of the best. We get to visit the National Parks at Ranthambore, Kanha and Bandhavgarh to chance the sight of Bengal Tiger and a short visit to the beautiful Birds at Bharatpur.

 

We also visit the enchanting Taj Mahal and the amazing temples of Kahjuraho as we move from one wildlife destination to another.

 

 

         WILDLIFE JOURNEY

 

THE TOUR

 

 

Day 01: ARRIVE DELHI
Upon arrival our representative will receive you and escort you to your vehicle. Drive to your designated hotel. Our representative will assist you with the check-in formalities and inform you of your next day’s program.

Day 02: DELHI
Since the flights arrive late in the night the morning is to relax and unwind. Later in the day you will begin your sightseeing of the important sites in the city.

 

Some of the monuments worth visiting are the Red Fort, Jama Masid (Mosque), Gandhi Memorial, India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb & the Qutab Minar. It is also recommended that one drives around Lutyen’s Delhi and walk in Connaught Place.

NOTE:
Red Fort is closed on Mondays.

Day 03: DELHI - JAIPUR
After a leisurely breakfast drive to Jaipur. You will pass through some small towns and countryside, which will give you an opportunity to make some interesting photos.


The Pink City of Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century. It is a planned city built on “Vastu Shastra” ancient Hindu architectural principles as the colonial capital of a richly colorful state. The whole city was painted in Terracotta to welcome Prince Albert in 1853 and this Terracotta color has become a unique feature of the Old City.

Day 04: JAIPUR
The Old Capital, Amber Fort the seat of the Maharajas of Jaipur before the city of Jaipur was founded is situated in the north and today morning you will visit this medieval Fort, which has been restored to its old glory.
In the afternoon visit the City Palace Museum & the Jantar Mantar, the stone Observatory in the heart of the Old City.

Day 05: JAIPUR / RANTHAMBORE
Today you have a five hour journey by road to reach Ranthombore, which at one time was the hunting grounds for the Royal Family of Jaipur. The Sanctuary has over 38 tigers and the numbers are growing due to safe breeding grounds & constant vigil by the authorities.


After arrival and settling down at your resort you will be met with our naturalist who will take you in a private Jeep for the first round of Safari into the Jungle.

In the evening our naturalist will show you a slide show & talk to you about the Park and give you detailed information. He will also inform you about the day’s activity fir the next day.

Day 06: RANTHAMBORE
You have a full day to enjoy the Park and the surroundings including the Fort perched on top of the hill.

Day 07: RANTHAMBORE / BHARATPUR / AGRA
Today you have a train Journey to Bharatpur, which is where the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary was established in 1956. The Bird Sanctuary was also a hunting ground of the Maharajas of Bharatpur.

 

The Sanctuary is spread over 20 sq. miles & is famous for the Siberian Cranes and many other migratory birds. There is also a large number of residential ones to be seen here.

After arrival you will be received and a lunch a arranged at the Laxmi Vilas Palace Hotel.

 

You will be escorted by our bird expert for a quick visit to the Sanctuary. Later drive to Agra.  

 

 

 

 

Day 08: AGRA
Though Taj Mahal can be visited at any time of the day but visiting it in the early morning just before sunrise and watch it glow with the sunlight is an experience that can only be witnessed in person.


Emperor Shajhan built this poem in white marble for his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal who died after giving birth to their 14th child.

Agra Fort is next on the agenda and the majestic Fort built by Emperor Akbar in Red Sand Stone is another World Heritage Monument, which is worth visiting. It also gives a fantastic view of the Taj Mahal with the riverbed in the backdrop.

NOTE: Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

Day 09: AGRA / JHANSI / KHAJURAHO
The train journey is a highlight of the travel today. Our representative will escort you to the Train station to connect train to Jhansi (Bhopal Shatabdi - Agra Dep - 0817 / Jhansi Arr - 1043 hrs)

On arrival you stop at Orchha for an early lunch. After lunch continue our drive to Khajuraho, home to the most famous erotic temples built in the 10 & 11th century by the Chandella Rulers.

On arrival in Khajuraho, transfer to the Hotel. Evening is to enjoy the Sound and Light Show.

Day 10: KHAJURAHO / BANDHAVGARH
In the morning visit Eastern Group of temples mainly dedicated to the Jain teachers - Tirthankaras. Also visit the Western Group of temples, which consist of a group of artistic temples built in sandstone.

Later you will drive to Bandhavgarh. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India. Covering approx. 350 sq miles. Bandhavgarh is situated in outlying hills of the Vindhyachal range. The terrain is of rocky hills rising sharply from the swampy and densely forested valley bottoms.

After the long drive you arrive at your hotel, where our naturalist will receive you and inform you about the program for the next day. Rest of the evening is to relax and get ready for the next day.

Day 11: BANDHAVGARH
You have a full day to enjoy the Jeep Safaris into the National Park.

Day 12: BANDHAVGARH / KANHA
Today you another long drive to reach the Kanha Tiger Reserve. The Reserve is located in the Maikal Hills, which has a rich Flora & Fauana. The topography is breathtakingly beautiful as you see the flat hilltops, grassy expanses, dense & riverine forest. The Reserve has not only a large population of Tigers but also has been successful in saving the endangered “Barasingha” antelope.

It was here that Rudyard Kipling got the inspirations to write his The Jungle Book with the famous “Mowgli” character.

Our naturalist will receive you on arrival at the hotel and after you have settled down he will talk to you about your program for the next day.

Day 13: KANHA
Today you will enjoy morning and afternoon Jeep Safari into the Park.

Day 14: KANHA / NAGPUR / MUMBAI
After breakfast drive to Nagpur and connect flight to Mumbai. You will be received in Mumbai and escorted to your hotel.

 

Flight Schedule - IT3130 1830/1945 HRS.

 

 

 

 

Day 15: MUMBAI / USA
You will be escorted to the airport to connect flight to Mumbai where our representative will receive you & check you in at your hotel. Later in the evening you will be assisted to drive to the international airport and check-in for your flight back home.
